Karin Arden- President- American Marketing Association
Tampa Bay Chapter
Karin Arden, president of the American Marketing Association’s (AMA) Tampa Bay Chapter, says she met Tye Maner at a client retreat in 2004, and noticed how effective he was in engaging the audience of commercial real estate brokers. As she heard him give the brokers techniques on how to be better brokers and individuals to their clients, employer and families, Karin says she knew that AMA members would learn a lot from him.
Tye accepted her invitation to speak to the organization’s Tampa Bay Chapter on the topic of “How to Beat Your Competition to a P.U.L.P.” According to Karin, “Tye’s remarks were so well received, the meeting ran 30 minutes long. No one left early and everyone stayed until the end. It was the first time that has happened at our luncheon events in years, so you know it was a great presentation.”
Karin says what impresses her the most about Tye is that he is very engaging, honest, humble and passionate about how he achieved his success. She adds, “It’s rare to see such compassion in a true professional. His willingness to share what he’s learned is also amazing, and for sure, you always get more than what you expect.”
Karin says she will ask Tye to come back to speak again, but this time on leadership, which is one of the key areas he focuses on in his book, Forget Patience, Let’s Sell Something! She also plans to put Tye on the speaker’s list for AMA national so that other chapters can benefit from his wisdom.
“Tye’s one of the best in his field,” concludes Karin, “and I hope one day to see him and [Stephen] Covey together – now that would be a great event, and I know Tye would give Covey a run for his money!”
